DANVIC Initiatives

DANVIC Initiatives, in rural Mpigi district, began with one family who was caring for 20 orphans on their land. Since then it has turned into an organisation that has tried to reach all vulnerable children in and around the community.

DANVIC established a vocational S1-S2 school, offering courses in brick making, masonry, knitting, tailoring, and carpentry, as well as general academic studies. Part of the initiative of DANVIC is to create cultural understanding between the various peoples of Uganda. As part of this, DANVIC has recruited teachers from the north of Uganda and plans in to invite war affected children from the north of Uganda to come and learn at their school. DANVIC also takes pride in educating girls who, in this area, are often married off after primary school. DANVIC recognizes that education is important for girls to have bright future and to rise above those before them.

Uganda Hands for Hope assisted DANVIC by providing them with two knitting machines and several sewing machines that allow them to train more students and thus have an impact on a greater number of lives.
